Stylbrekers’ first production takes place in the dark world of butter smuggling. In the years after the Second World War many goods were smuggled across the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. These ranged from tobacco and alcohol to livestock and indeed, butter. Since the price was twice as high in Belgium, it was a good way of earning some extra money! In ‘Het Vette Goud’, or ‘The Fatty Gold’, we follow a young woman on such a smuggling adventure. How does it end?
