Generally speaking, products are designed to bring the user closer to it. I wondered if I could design a series of items that move away but remain functional. Having read into the characteristics of the lobster I decided to base this project on a defence mechanism called the 'Caridoid Escape Reaction'.
Coat rack that pulls your items back and up against the wall.
Lamp allows the user to control the direction of light as the body of the product responds to hand movement.
Cabinet tricks the unknowing user. When opened in the way one should expect, half of its content remains hidden.
